My new Spad from Niki Wilder

For the first time over 4 years I was able to participate in a dogfight. Did I win? If by winning you mean NOT get shot down, then I won. I need lots of practice, and thanks to SLGo it's able to happen again.

Machinima Test

This is little test machinima I created at Cornelius Fanshaw's Tarington Aerodrome. He redecorated his WW2 style RAF Tarington Field to resemble a Royal Flying Corp World War 1 era aerodrome complete with trenches between his parcel and Niki Wilder's place at Rundlelawn.

I would have planned the shot much better, but I was just winging it as an experiment - just to see if it was possible. It's been a very long time since I last created a machinima and to be honest I forgot a lot of basics. Yay Google!

This is a single shot using 3D Space Navigator.

I used music from a YouTube approved download-able list (avoiding copyright trouble this time). The track is called "Vespers" by Topher Mohr and Alex Elena.

YouTube detected a little bumpiness on the video, so I approved some smoothing, which accounts for the dreamy wave images you see here and there.

The Return of the RCAF

We're excited again...We are energized and rebuilding...

Cornelius Fanshaw built a new Officers Club in the WW2 Tradition for our exploits in the WW2 sims. This copy will also act as our meeting area 1000 meters above Lot 2 of the RCAF Connolly-Messmer Airpark in Caledon Penzance.

Attention all RCAF Pilots!

We will have a 9:00 AM (SL time) Meeting on Sunday the 29th of November 2009.

Arrive at the RCAF Connolly-Messmer Airpark Gazebo and use the TP to teleport to our new WW2-style RCAF Officers club at 1000 Meters above RCAF Connolly-Messmer Lot # 2.

Our meetup will take place at the Officers Club.

Topics of discussion: Events in December and a possible solution to the simcross-extremelag situation

Free VICE Combat System items available

Our man in the EDF/RCAF labs - Cornelius Fanshaw - has added a new vendor to the Connolly Aerodrome Quonset Hut.

In addition to the free items from VICE's own Creem Pye, you'll find Cornelius' updated vendor that includes 3 free TCS/CCC/VICE capable aircraft as well as a free VICE Target Cargo Ship for your bombing pleasure.

The 3 aircraft are the Sopwith Camel, Fokker DR1, and a whimsical Steam Flyer for steampunk-ish places in SL.

Cornelius is also working on VICE versions of Tiny Airplanes. Watch for those in the near future.

This weekends scheduled EDF and RCAF Air Combat will be on Saturday the 20th of September at 9:00 AM SL time, followed by another dogfight on Sunday the 21st of September at 9 AM SL time. Special Note: We're testing VICE all weekend. So Practice Practice Practice! Our dogfight location will be announced later in the week....
