Prim Perfect to launch new magazine! « Prim Perfect

Prim Perfect to launch new magazine! « Prim Perfect

Poster for the launch of the new magazine".....Prim Perfect will be a year old in May. During the last ten months, we’ve grown from 0 to 10,000 readers, and we’ve launched a TV show - Meta Makeover. Now we’re ready for our next big venture - a new magazine!

In collaboration with the Connolly Telegraph, we will shortly be launching a wholly new magazine with a very special twist.

This is one catering for the large number of people in Second Life who are interested and involved in the steampunk and historical recreation sims covering a period between 1740 and 1920 (that is, roughly speaking, the period covered by sims from Versailles to New Toulouse). It will be centred on the Independent State of Caledon, but it is hoped that all the other period sims will become involved and play a part too.

It will draw on the existing strengths of its partner founders; the news gathering skills and content experience of the Telegraph, and the design, production and features writing of Prim Perfect....."

Steelhead News of a serious note

Group Notice From: Christine McAllister

This message is mostly for the "old-timers" of Steelhead who knew "meQal Anna"... Sheriff Fuzzball Ortega has asked me to let you know that meQal Anna has suffered a RL stroke on New Year's Eve and is currently in the hospital. The Doctors are also checking for an aneurysm. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you.

Editors note: A previously issued release from this publication misidentified the Sheriff as the victim of a stroke. Entirely my fault for reading in a hurry.

Expansion of Connolly Empire - (because I love lists)

3 parcels in Caledon, 2 in Steelhead Harborside.

The 2 parcels in Harborside:
I'm considering these adjacent parcels as a possible site for The Connolly Telegraph. Once I see the plots I'll determine their best use.

Connolly Lighthouse in Caledon Regency:
Lately I've been using this as a workshop. I'm considering a living quarters on the second floor. My plans are on hold until the use of Steelhead Harborside plots can be determined...

Connolly Airfield/Aerodrome in Caledon Penzance:
My pride and joy! This is a real labor of love! I'm delighted to see the same faces using it again and again. It would seem the same people who enjoy sailing also like to fly.

Connolly Park in Caledon Mayfair:
The site of my second lighthouse, previously seen at my former land in Antiquity Cove. My park is at the NW corner of Mayfair, adjacent to my Airfield in Penzance. This will be designed as an outdoor venue and in my mind, a virtual tribute to my parents and their favorite interests (Father=Gardens, Mother=Music).

...and finally...unless a Duchy in Caledon becomes available...this is all I can handle....whew!

The Diverse Adventures of Mr G. Abel: Prologue to Adventure!

The Diverse Adventures of Mr G. Abel: Prologue to Adventure!:

"My story begins in the bustling town of Tombstone, Arizona. I had returned here, as I often do, to manage certain investments and examine the growth of the town, which is ever-changing and improving upon itself. Not that it is a peaceful or relaxing place; rather, it can be boisterous and murderous if one is thrust into the typical situations of mis-communication that tends to leave slow-to-act strangers either dangling from a rope or staining the street with some bodily fluid or another, too often blood-red, through some misfortune of step or speech. Therefore have I sought a haven from violence here, and found it the reading rooms of the charming and well-armed Miss Connolly, also of Regency, Caledon..."

Spinning plates while balancing on a fence...

I try to balance RL, SL, and my blogs that cover SL. This kind of multi-tasking is taking a toll on my health, so I'm taking steps to find more balance in my life.

Part of the day Saturday and all day Sunday is devoted to SL. I'm inworld most of the time - internet connectivity permitting of course.

My blogs have evolved since I started SL blogging in March 2007. My focus now is the 19th Century world within our virtual world of SL. I cannot cover everything in SL, nor would I want to. My focus will be on the Victorian era steampunk and Wild West sims, almost exclusively. Two of my blogs no longer exist, so please update your links if you haven't noticed yet - Second Life Events and ZoeCorp ZabrinaWorks are deleted.

In addition, I'll be working on my Second Life BloggerCon 2008 event. I'll need one or two people to become co-owner(s) of my Second Life Bloggers group and assist with day-to-day maintenance and operations so that I may devote more time to other projects.

I'll have details on the SL Bloggers Logo Contest in a post this Saturday. The winner of the contest will receive 5000 linden dollars.

That's all for now, xoxox

Two New Blogs in the works....

SL BloggerCon 2008 will cover news about our proposed convention for Second Life Bloggers. BloggerCon is tentatively scheduled for late February 2008.

After consultation with Caledon Librarian JJ Drinkwater, I've started The Connolly Telegraph. This new blog will cover news on the 19th Century sims of Second Life. This includes Caledon, New Babbage, Steelhead City, Tombstone (both sims), Yankton, Deadwood, and many more. The vision for this blog is to unite the 19th Century citizens while still retaining the unique character and atmosphere of the individual sims.

I've only set up the URLs for now. Content will come later as I get things settled.

By the way, Blogger now offers their own polls. I'll be trying this little widget soon.

In no particular order...snapshots from last weekend

As some of you know, I spend far more time inworld in the various Victorian Steampunk sims these days. Here are a few snapshots I've been collecting over the past 2 weeks. This has been a hectic week of training in my new RL position so I haven't had much time for blogging as I'd hoped. As I often like to say - I wish I had signed up for SL prior to RL. Heh.

I'll have more time to work on all my blogs this weekend.

Busy Blogger

Two new blogs....

Second Life Events will showcase any upcoming events I find taking place in SL. Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know what's happening inworld.

ZoeCorp ZabrinaWorks will cover building and scripting in the virtual world of Second Life. In it I'll link to various blogs that concentrate on the technical side of SL. Bring out your inner geek, fill me in on your own technical posts, read up on some cool projects, and comment of course.

The Bloodwing Foundation

The Bloodwing Foundation

"The common journal of the residents and employees of the Bloodwing Foundation, a mysterious medical institution run by the Mason family to find cures for conditions thought incurable."

I was pleased to discover a link to my blog from Dr. Mason's Caledon, Steelhead Blog under the "Dramatis Personae" label as "The Blogmistress."

Thank you Doctor.

Second Life Steampunk

I've discovered one very important thing in the last 6 months of my Second Life.

I love steampunk!

I love Caledon, Steelhead City and New Babbage! I feel more at home in those sims than anywhere else in SL, and this new blog is my homage to my favorite places in SL. I love the sights, the people, and the creativity. I'll be working on it again this weekend...
