EXTRAS: Random photos from the AXIS side

We're working on a Second Life machinima project that would combine the feel of two movies: Battle of the Bulge and Operation Crossbow. 

For the next 4 to 6 weeks I'll be shooting stock footage I can use in any WW2 video project.

I Always Say Never

I always say never. I stopped blogging. I stopped for almost 2 months. But here I am!

I've also said "I'm never using mesh avatars."  But I'm here to tell you I experimented with an alt. Then recently took the plunge and went full mesh with my main account - Zoe Connolly. Thousands of Lindens later it's a done deal and you know what? I love the new look. I'll keep the old look in "storage" but the new me is now - me.



Anyway, while I was NOT blogging I took steps to make my Second Life easier.

STEP 1) I deleted the accounts to most of my Alt Army. Now I'm down to an Alt Squad.

 My intention is to upgrade all my alts to mesh and it would be ridiculously expensive and wasteful to upgrade all of them, especially when they're rarely used. It's also a little security risk to have so many accounts that could possibly get hacked. So Zoe's army is now Zoe's squad.

STEP 2) I've reorganized my inventory and have deleted old folders with items that either aren't used, cannot be used due to scripting issues, or so old I can't remember why the hell I bought them in the first place. In some instances it's a combination of the above.

I'm streamlining everything I can. I've reduced the number of alts and also reduced the inventory of "Zoe Connolly" and her alts. 

At present I have no land tier to worry about so all my SL funds can now go to Mesh Av upgrades, accessories and clothing.

I was chatting with a couple of friends via Twitter and was excited about the idea of posting about my transformation from my "stuck in 2009" look and the new 2015 Mesh look. The mesh upgrades are super intimidating at first but if I can overcome it, so can anyone. The biggest part of the change for me was the sense of loss I felt. Changing looks so drastically was upsetting at first, which is why I resisted for so long and also why I wanted to start with an Alt account I used infrequently. 

I have a few post ideas planned including Inventory management, favorite mesh items, favorite new motion capture AOs and a series about the complete transformation of my Alt Zabrina McMahon from 2007 look to 2015 Mesh.

Below is a pic of Zabrina from a few days ago. Her most recent item is her hair from 2011 and skin from 2009. The rest of her...shape as well as clothing are from 2007. Her shape by the way is what I call "classic Zoe" shape. The one I've used since January 2007 and it's official name is "Sexy Alice" from a store I'm not even sure exists now.

TimeForce 10 - "Die Glocke"

Following the recovery of the once missing Bell 2 from a remote Blake Sea Island, TimeRaiders Zabrina McMahon and Zoetrope Dreamscape put the finishing touches on the Bell 4.

The Bell 4 is to be the second of five working time machines to be delivered to a special team of 1944 German Scientists.

Once all five Nazi Time Machines are in place, the Germans - with the assistance of The TimeRaiders - will begin Operation TimePanzer: The Secret Plan to send a team of 1944 Germans to meet with Hitler in early 1941.

Will the plan work?

Or did Major Samantha Calamity of TimeForce 10 find the secret of the missing Bell Mark 2?

And will 19th Century Scientist Cinnamon Somerset escape from the TimeRaiders and find her missing husband?

TimeForce 10 - "The Test"

Zabrina McMahon goes inside a Nazi Time Machine to test all systems before a human chrononaut is chosen for testing.

Known to the Germans as "Die Glocke" the Bell Mark III will be the third Time Machine to be tested by Nazi Germany, but as Doctor Zoetrope Dreamscape reminds Zabrina McMahon, the missing Bell Mark II must be found and destroyed before Zoe Connolly and her TimeForce 10 agents can unlock its secrets.

The Bell's signature footprint holds clues that will lead TF10 to the exact place, date and time of the Nazi Time Machine Project in France 1944.

Will TimeForce 10 find Bell 2 before Zabrina? And what will happen to Zabrina if she fails her mission?

TimeForce 10 - "Blast from the Past"

TimeRaiders Zoetrope Dreamscape and Zabrina McMahon leave a special "gift" for Zoe Connolly and Cornelius Fanshaw of TimeForce 10.

The "gift" is the long missing third Atomic Bomb from 1945, set to detonate when a mole is inside the Time Tunnel room with Zoe and Cornelius.

Consider this, thinking aloud...

I'm a moody-sort sometimes. It runs deep in my family.

Second Life is a fun and enjoyable pastime... sharing fun, exciting, and at times sexy activities with good friends. But what do you do when your alt has more fun than your main account?

The avatar Zoe Connolly has become an administrator for groups, offgrid social media accounts, and a manager of land and Linden Dollars. Zoe has become The Banker. Ugh!

This was not supposed to happen. This is what alts are for, yes? Zoe should be the exciting girl, the adventurous girl. The hawt Girl with Guns who does amazing things. She flies across sims to defeat evil, and is soon back home to kiss her favorite avatar of the month.

I created an alt to do the heavy lifting. Immediately, I ran into the irresistible urge to make her...well...fabulous! In a short time, I logged into my alt more often. I savored the anonymity that an alt allows, but then a funny thing happens... Your alt becomes popular too, with her own experiences, friends, and loves. You find logging into your main account an absolute chore, and you LOVE being your alt. You want to be your alt like the early days when you wanted to be your first avatar morning, noon, and night. Savoring those same feelings you had when you were happy in your main account. It's almost like falling in love. In a way, you ARE in love.

Yes, it's true. In this strange world of Virtual Identity, I've found myself in love with my avatar creations.

But what of Zoe? I still love her. She's a part of me. She IS me! I want to be happy being Zoe, again.

RL lives evolve in ways never expected. SL lives are more planned but on occasion go in unexpected directions. Zoe will continue her journey in the metaverse and prosper. She will love and be loved. But the direction she takes will change soon. It's a normal part of life in both Universes.

I'll soon decide what to do with my land in Caledon Penzance (Connolly Aerodrome) and my Royal Caledon Air Force group, with more changes to follow.

[2009/02/01 12:43] Zoe Connolly: can you do that for us?
