Sunday's SL Bloggers Party and a visit to Podcaster Island

Unfortunately the weather (LAG) was not cooperative during my Second Life Bloggers / Royal Caledon Air Force / Christmas 1944 themed Big Band Party. But I shall feature a few of what others posted on The Connolly Telegraph. Special thanks to dinee Ghia and CodeBastard Redgrave for the lovely gifts they gave me, as well as to Radio Riel who provided the music for the occasion and Her Grace Gabrielle Riel (DJ) and Lady Whoop-Ass/Flight LT Diamanda "Cuckoo" Gustafson (Host) for helping me during the evening. It was great fun, indeed!
I have no plans at the moment for the next Second Life Bloggers Party. I'll be taking a break from all that in January. The earliest plans for the next one would be February and I will of course, keep you posted here, Pownce, Twitter, the SLBloggers Google Group, etc, etc.....
Today I made a brief lag-filled visit to Podcaster Island. I didn't get to see very much of it. I'll have to return and explore another time.

Combining Snapshots with my Twitterings
I'm trying something new today. I'm combining my Tweets on Twitter with snapshots from my wanderings...
Investigating UFO sighting over Mayfair :from Caledon Mayfair [185,122,96] in SL.
UFOs Identified....One WhirlyMachine called a helicopter (a Friendly), and one green Dragon (not so friendly)
Checking the Cape Messmer moonscape skybox by Eladrienne Laval :from Caledon Morgaine [253,50,526] in SL
Many new AO HUDs. Yay! :from Kedai [15,211,23] in SL
This worked out very well for me. I was able to piece together my time in SL in a more chronological way than I've done before - using Twitter as a guide for arranging my photographs. The text is already written with just a little editing. Great method of blogging for those of us with very little time. I Twittered inworld using Kos Farina's TwitterHUD, a free extra gadget when you buy his TwitterSCREEN.

Decisions, decisions...
My SL News: My time is so limited....I have to make difficult choices on what I do in SL and what brings me the most joy.
As many of you know, I love Victorian Steampunk sims such as Caledon, New Babbage, Antiquity and Steelhead City. My involvement in Steampunk has grown at a tremendous rate.
I also love the Battlestar Pacifica sim known as BSG47. My involvement there is growing over time as I get to know more of my fellow roleplayers. A few people I met there have given me a position in IPX and the upcoming Babylon 5 sim. I've been offered a few opportunities I have yet to decide on..... like the possibility of a Duchy sim in Antiquity.
I've developed a love for sailing and flying in Caledon and Antiquity.
Well...I've made the decision now. One I've been thinking of for many months. When I woke up this morning I had the answer to my time management issues.....I've decided to leave several great groups I've created, so this is a painful one....like letting go of your child in a way, seeing her off on her first day of school. Painful, scary, and hoping for the very best for your little girl.
I'll be leaving 3 groups....
1) Girls and Guns
2) Second Life Bloggers
3) Second Life BloggerCon
I'll leave as soon as leadership is filled and transfer of powers are completed.
This decision does NOT come easy, but it *is* a necessary one in order for me to preserve my health, sanity, and happiness in SL.

Girls with Guns :: The Steampunk Version
It's been quite a while since my last "Girls with Guns" post, so I have some catching up to do. Since my last post on the subject I've been concentrating on collecting 19th Century weapons for Victorian Era and Wild West sims.
Here are 2 snapshots from the 2nd floor of my lighthouse where I setup a temporary target range. The weapon is one from Ordinal Malaprop's finely crafted arsenal. The .45 Shansi.

An eventful weekend in Antiquity and Caledon
I haven't been very sociable over the past weekend but I really have a good reason....really!
I'm a new land owner! w00t! With parcels in Antiquity Cove and Caledon Regency.
First and foremost, a special thank you to Caledon Guvnah Desmond Shang for everything he does for his citizens in providing us with an incredible number of sims. 19 now and growing...
I Twittered my new land purchase in Antiquity and the sim opening of Caledon Regency throughout the weekend and friends and fellow bloggers dinee and DesertWolf were right there to congratulate me along the way. The first snap here shows the 3 of us at the steps of my new property early Sunday morning. That house is no more and has since changed to the lighthouse you see in the other photos.
The lighthouse was built by Miss Tiana Meriman and judging from the number of visitors and compliments we received last night by my fellow Caledonians, they seem quite impressed. Ever worried, my dear Tiana was busy with correcting flaws she noticed, but was still able to address questions from the developing throng. Another very special thank you to my girl Tiana for building this wonderful lighthouse for me.
The lighthouse design is loosely based on a favorite from Holland, Michigan known as Big Red. We've adapted a few things to make it more Caledonian, of course, but the size of the build has been most impressive, and seems to be one of the largest structures in Regency.
