Tinkeratrix :: Ilsa Munro

One of my favourite people in Second Life now has a blog....

May I introduce my Tinkeratrix friend Ilsa Munro. She's a duchess, she builds, and does so with style, humour, and in spite of what she'll tell you, great aplomb as well.

From Ilsa's first blog post....

"I've been repeatedly informed that having a blog is a necessary step on the whole "getting the word out there" part of running a SL (tm) business so here I am catching the tail end of this particular trend. My problem is that I'm truly awful at self-promotion. It took forever for me to work up the nerve to post in the various forums in which I occasionally participate.

Two things have prompted me into action - or a reduced level of inaction. First, a friend basically told me to "shut up and do something about it" and since this is free it's the obvious choice :)

Second I can comfort my sense of modesty with the almost certain knowledge that almost no one will read this and as such it hardly makes a difference how self-aggrandizing it seems to me as I write it.

That of course leaves me with the question of exactly what to write.

A few of you might know that I build aircraft, so naturally I've decided that I'll - ahem - blog about fashion.

What's that you say? SL Fashion is already covered at great and extensive length by everyone and thier cross eyed cat?

Oh... Well then aircraft it is I suppose."

Busy Blogger

Two new blogs....

Second Life Events will showcase any upcoming events I find taking place in SL. Please feel free to drop me a line and let me know what's happening inworld.

ZoeCorp ZabrinaWorks will cover building and scripting in the virtual world of Second Life. In it I'll link to various blogs that concentrate on the technical side of SL. Bring out your inner geek, fill me in on your own technical posts, read up on some cool projects, and comment of course.

Inworld Flickr Slideshow and RSS Blog Displays

Questions for Codie, Dalien, etc...

I'm thinking ahead here...

When we have our Blogger Island (code named Blogpile Island) can we:

1) display our Flickr Photos via some sort of RSS feed slidshow?

2) display our blog via RSS or even better a real time image of our blogs?

3) then click on the display that would give a notecard with our URLs?

I'm thinking these displays could be setup in the center of the island in a town square.

Attention Scriptors!

(is it scriptors? scripters? those who script?)

I have an idea for a new gadget/tool that would greatly enhance both blog reading and SL time management.

While at work, a coffeehouse, bookstore, etc...I read a great many blogs and many of those are related to Second Life. Some of those blogs have SLurls to great places inworld. By the time I get home where I can get down to some Second Life exploring, I've forgotten about those sims I need to visit.

So here's my idea. A toolbar or desktop gadget that saves and sorts your collected SLurls and that will, after SL logon, transfer your findings to your inworld HUD.

Voila!

Happy Teleporting!

All I ask in return is that you give me free copies for life. Heh.

Of course if this has already been done, please let me know. I need it like...last week.

Location, Location, Location...

My friend DwarfRed assists me in my search for a suitable parcel of land to purchase, while another looks on with great interest. Can you tell which one is DwarfRed?.

My visit to the Canal District of New Babbage

On my very first visit to Babbage many weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Miss Anabella Voom. In my further exploration in the new Canal District area, we were able to get acquainted again, and when I expressed an interest in one day living here, she was kind enough to offer me a tour of her rented apartment as well as her new owned living space. Her new property is pictured here. These shots are the second floor of her home and work area. Anabella is an architecture student in RL and sees great potential in this space. I hope I'll get a chance to see the next phase of her project.
